FORM chargers are designed to work with functioning OBC (Onboard Computer) and non-OBC 48V Club Car golf carts. When the charger is unable to communicate with the OBC it usually requires a simple fix.
From 1995 to 2014, all Club Car models have an OBC. This computer is very temperamental and that may be why you receive an error code. (Red, yellow, green every minute) When this occurs you will need to bypass your OBC. This can be easily done by following instructions in Club Car Troubleshooting Guide
If your current charger still isn't working and suspect the OBC may be faulty, you may want to purchase our FORM Onboard battery Charger instead which will connect directly to the batteries and charge your cart regardless of a faulty OBC. You can also take your golf cart to a service technician to replace the OBC. The typical cost is $400-$700.

The FORM Charge smart golf cart charger is designed to charge flooded lead-acid batteries.
Flooded battery chargers cannot be used to charge AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries. This is because AGM batteries have different charging requirements than flooded batteries. AGM batteries require a slower, more stable charge than flooded batteries and can't sustain the high charging speeds used by our battery chargers. If you charge an AGM battery with the wrong type of charger, you will end up under or overcharging your battery. Undercharging can cause sulfation on the battery's plates, reducing its ability to accept a full charge. Overcharging can cook the components inside the battery, which can shorten its lifespan or kill the battery entirely.
