My FORM Charger is Charging, but the Fan Doesn’t Come On

It can be concerning when you connect your charger to a power outlet, switch it on, and find that the fan isn't activating. Through troubleshooting with our customers, we have found this to be a relatively common issue that has a fairly simple solution.

Commonly Occurs After

  1. Damage while in transit
  2. A heavy object was placed on top of the fan grill
  3. The charger was exposed to a dusty environment

The Problem

The most common culprit of these symptoms is a bent fan grill.

How to Confirm and Fix

Check for a Bent Fan Grill

  1. Remove the Fan Grill: Use the screwdriver to unscrew the four screws holding the fan grill in place.
  2. Test the Fan: With the fan grill removed, plug your charger into the outlet and check if the fan starts.
  3. Adjust the Fan Grill: If the fan activates without the grill, it's likely that the grill is obstructing the fan blades. Carefully bend the grill to ensure it doesn’t touch the blades.

  4. Reassemble: Secure the fan grill back in place using the screws, then plug in the charger to test.
